The Master BlendersMolasses is the Bajan "black gold". Only the most aromatic molasses is selected for Mount Gay Rum. After distillation in the copper pot stills, each batch of water and molasses would have been distilled twice. The double distillate then fills the Kentucky Oak barrels which are set aside to age. After they have matured the Master Blenders check to make sure the Mount Gay Rum is of the highest quality.
